Update on Covid-19
As you will no doubt have seen, the health situation is rapidly deteriorating and mass gatherings are being actively discouraged, especially in London. In the interest of doing our part to preserve your health and that of our teams, we have taken the difficult decision to postpone our season of Pandora’s Box. We are discussing a possible new schedule later in the year, and will be in touch with more details as soon as we know the new dates.
You will also no doubt have read about the impact that this situation is having on an industry like ours that is precarious at the best of times, and on the artists that work in it, who are mostly freelancers with virtually no safety net. This wave of cancellations – affecting not just small enterprises like The Opera Story but even the largest organisations – worries us greatly, and we would like to do our part to help support them in these exceptional circumstances.
You will be able to ask for a refund of your tickets by contacting us at info@theoperastory.com, but we would be very grateful if you could consider donating the value of your tickets towards an emergency fund that we are setting up and that will be allocated in its entirety towards compensating even by a small amount the fees that they are losing as a result of this emergency. We will be recording the last rehearsal sessions to give you a preview of the work you have all contributed to create, and as a way to thank you we will send you a link so that you can watch it when it is ready.
We are very grateful to you for your support, wish you and your loved ones all the best, and look forward to seeing you soon to share Pandora’s Box and other new operas with you.
