With just about a week to go until our latest opera was scheduled to open, we took the difficult decision to postpone our season.
You will no doubt have read about the impact that this situation is having on an industry like ours that is precarious at the best of times, and on the artists that work in it, who are mostly freelancers with virtually no safety net. This wave of cancellations that affects all our industry worries us greatly, and we would like to do our part to help support them in these exceptional circumstances.
This is why we set up an emergency fund that will be allocated in its entirety to our artists, to compensate even by a small amount the fees that they are losing as a result of this emergency. We were fortunate to have been able to record the last rehearsal sessions, and if you can help us with a donation we will send you a link so that you can see it when we premiere it on YouTube on Sunday April 26th at 8pm UK time (although you can still watch it at a later date if you can’t make it).
We are very grateful for your support, wish you and your loved ones all the best, and look forward to welcoming you when we are able to perform it in front of a live audience!
